One player whose future appears to be uncertain beyond this season at Manchester City is Jack Grealish. At his best, Grealish has plenty to offer Pep Guardiola’s side. But too often the England international has had to deal with fitness issues which prevent him from playing regularly for the world champions. Heading into the summer transfer window a host of suitors have emerged who could attempt to sign Grealish.
Odds are, Grealish is more likely to depart Manchester City this summer. But should City keep him for next season? That’s an interesting discussion point to ponder given that a host of key players are likely to leave Manchester City in the summer. In my opinion, City can’t let all of their experienced players go in one transfer window. That will create too much of a leadership void in Pep Guardiola’s squad. Jack Grealish isn’t a leader for City, but he is an experienced player who knows what Pep Guardiola demands of his squad.
With Kevin De Bruyne having already announced that he is set to leave the club once this season has ended Grealish could play in midfield for next season. We have seen glimpses of that from the England international this season. Looking ahead perhaps that could be Grealish’s role in Pep Guardiola’s squad next season. But of course, he’d have to stay at the Etihad to make that a reality. It may well depend on what Jack Grealish wants to do with his future if he does stay at Manchester City for next season.
Danny Rust and Dean Jones have reported for GIVEMESPORT that Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan all have an interest in signing Jack Grealish this summer. Furthermore, the GIVEMESPORT report indicates that Manchester City are willing to let Grealish leave the club this summer. Lastly, Rust and Jones report that Grealish is eager to stay at Manchester City and live up to his price tag.
It may come down to what Jack Grealish wants to do this summer which dictates whether or not he remains at Manchester City for next season. There are a host of clubs interested in signing him as per the GIVEMESPORT report. But if he wants to stay and fight for his place in Pep Guardiola’s squad that may end any talk of a summer transfer. But if he wants to leave then City may cash in on a player who does, at times, divide opinion. The future of Jack Grealish is just one of many stories to watch this summer from a Manchester City point of view. There is a case for Grealish staying at Manchester City or leaving the club. Either is compelling and it’s another topic that could dominate discussion heading into the summer transfer window.
