Stat: Barcelona star leading Mo Salah as Europe’s top creator this season

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has carved out more ‘big’ goalscoring chances from open play than any other player in Europe’s top-five leagues this season.
That’s according to statisticians Squawka, who point towards Lamine Yamal as the player in question.
Wide-man Lamine has of course spent the season to date establishing himself as not only world football’s best young talent, but arguably the best player in the game at present.
Still just 17, the winger is one of the first names on the team sheet of Hansi Flick, dazzling time and again from his berth on the right flank.
Lamine has racked up 16 goals across all competitions in 2024/25, but it is haul of 24 assists which has proven most noteworthy.
In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of the Spanish international’s chance creation stats being of the highest level.
As revealed by Squawka, Lamine, with 28, has created more big chances from open play than any other player in Europe’s leading leagues this term:
