Jonathan David quashed any doubt concerning his future, as he’ll be on his way out even though Lille had been trying to extend his expiring contract. He made the announcement to Onze Mondial.
“I’ll be free at the end of the season. I hope to improve, become a better player, and star for the biggest clubs in the world if possible. I wish to enjoy myself and never forget that football is fun. It started as a hobby for me and then turned into a job.”
David doesn’t seem to have picked his next destination already.
“Everybody will know it in due time once the campaign concludes. I won’t reveal it beforehand. First of all, I want to close it well. It’ll be a thrilling finale. I aim to help the team as much as I can. Then, I’ll make the call and announce it.”
The 25-year-old has overcome a slow start and has recorded 20 goals and 9 assists so far. He was often linked to Inter, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona in previous months.
He’d be a lofty target for the Nerazzurri if they didn’t lose one of their two stars, which they probably won’t. Still, since the production of their other forwards has been lackluster, it wouldn’t be shocking if they tried, but it’ll hinge on his demands and the commission. Milan are longer in the picture having signed Santiago Gimenez. The Bianconeri have more clarity about the Dusan Vlahovic situation but have already found his heir, even though they’ll have to strike a deal with PSG. A Serie A move doesn’t sound very likely, which would be a missed opportunity.
