According to a recent report from MARCA, it has come to light that Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has been formally prosecuted for sharing explicit videos involving two women, one of whom is a minor.

The case stems from an incident in 2023 that involved other players from Real Madrid’s youth teams.

The outlet mentions that the Investigating Court number 3 of San Bartolome de Tirajana has taken the step to prosecute Asencio along with former teammates Andres Garcia, Ferran Ruiz, and Juan Rodriguez.

The four are accused of recording and distributing intimate videos of two women without their consent, which constitutes a serious breach of privacy and, in one case, involves a minor, making the matter even more grave.

The High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands confirmed that the judge has closed the investigation phase and is now moving the case forward.

This step means the Prosecutor’s Office can now officially file charges and request a trial. The matter is still under judicial process, and the final decision to open a full trial will depend on the prosecution’s next steps. If charges are filed, the accused can still appeal.

Incident traced back to beach club gathering in 2023

The events in question reportedly took place at a beach club in the south of the Canary Islands in 2023.

At the time, Ruiz, Rodriguez, and Garcia were arrested in September. Initially, Raul Asencio was questioned only as a witness, but he was later included as a suspect after further investigation by the Guardia Civil.

As of now, both Real Madrid and the representatives of Asencio have chosen not to comment on the issue. The case continues to develop, and depending on the Public Prosecutor’s decision, it could soon proceed to court.

This news casts a shadow over Real Madrid’s youth setup and raises serious concerns about behaviour and accountability within the club’s younger ranks.
