Real Madrid will resume the defence of their La Liga crown after the international break with a clash against Leganes this Saturday.
With Barcelona opening up a three-point lead at the top by beating Osasuna on Thursday, Carlo Ancelotti & co. cannot afford a slip-up and risk losing more ground in the title race.
As Real Madrid began preparations for the clash against Leganes, there was a notable absence from training today in Thibaut Courtois.
According to journalist Guillermo Rai, the Belgian international is not taking part in the training session with the rest of the squad due to an overload.
Courtois returned from the international break with a muscle strain, which kept him out of Belgium’s second UEFA Nations League fixture against Ukraine.

However, it was expected that the 32-year-old would recover and be ready in time to face Leganes on Saturday.
But, throughout the week, Courtois has not been seen training with the group and has instead continued working inside the gym facilities, giving way to speculations that Andriy Lunin will start in goal on Saturday.
Now that the Belgian ace is not training on the eve of the game, it seem certain that he is set to miss tomorrow’s La Liga clash against Leganes.
In that case, Lunin will get the nod in goal tomorrow, which will serve as a warm-up for the 26-year-old for the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Sociedad next week.
Apart from Courtois, Real Madrid will also be without Dani Ceballos and Ferland Mendy for the match while Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal remain long-term absentees.
