Aston Villa winning 2-0 against Tottenham at Villa Park.

Whilst at Stamford Bridge a 1-0 victory for Chelsea over Manchester United.

The bookies always have a market for finishing Premier League top four but a lot of the major bookies have now also introduced a market on who will finish Premier League top five.

With of course five PL clubs to qualify via their domestic league position for the Champions League.

The bookies and punters reacting to how things now stand in the Premier League table (see below), as well of course, how they are now seeing the underlying strengths of the various teams and squads.

Listed below are the general Premier League odds now (Saturday 17 May 2025) available from the various bookies for the 2024/25 season

Firstly though, this is how the Premier League table now looks on Saturday 17 May 2025:

Bookies odds to finish Premier League top five (in brackets the odds before Friday night’s results:

Liverpool – Guaranteed top five

Arsenal – No offers on the Gunners as seen as sure thing

1/14 (1/25) Newcastle United

1/5 (1/14) Man City

4/9 (4/7) Chelsea

11/10 (8/5) Villa

9/1 (5/1) Forest

As you can see the bookies and punters still seeing Newcastle United as a massive odds on (1/14) chance to get top five and Champions League football. Very little changing for NUFC or Man City, I think largely due to the fact that it was widely expected that Villa would beat Spurs and Chelsea win against Man U. A failure of either of those to win last night would have seen a huge negative shift in their chances of top five and seriously bigger odds. Forest the biggest change as their odds have almost doubled (from 5/1 to 9/1) due to the wins for Chelsea and Villa.

Bookies odds to finish Premier League top four (odds in brackets are the odds available before Friday’s results):

Liverpool now guaranteed top four

1/66 (1/100) Arsenal

1/4 (1/5) Newcastle United

2/5 (2/7) Man City

2/1 (9/4) Chelsea

4/1 (11/2) Villa

33/1 (25/1) Forest

A similar story when it comes to odds on finishing top four, Newcastle United still the one most fancied by bookies and punters to join Liverpool and Arsenal in the top quartet, Man City the next most fancied.

The remaining matches for the Champions League chasing clubs:

Arsenal 68 points GD +33

Newcastle (H), Southampton (A)

Newcastle United 66 points GD +23

Arsenal (A), Everton (H)

Chelsea 66 points GD +20

Forest (A)

Villa 66 points GD +9

Man City 65 points GD +24
