Chelsea and Newcastle could reportedly miss out on Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as he’s eyeing a transfer to La Liga in 2026.

The England international seems keen on playing for one of Spain’s big two – Real Madrid or Barcelona – and could run down his contract in order to make his dream move happen.

That’s according to a report from the Sun, which also states that Premier League giants such as Chelsea and Newcastle are keen on Guehi.

Guehi was at Chelsea as a youngster earlier in his career, and he’s improved a lot since his move to Selhurst Park.

The 24-year-old could now be ready for another big move, and it seems he’s confident enough to hold out for two of the very biggest names in world football.

Marc Guehi transfer dream emerges

Despite so much interest from Premier League clubs, the Sun suggest Guehi’s dream move is to one of Real Madrid or Barcelona.

It will be interesting to see if either of those two are also keen on signing Guehi, but the report suggests he could be a tempting option.

Real Madrid have just signed Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth, so it remains to be seen if they’ll be back in for another centre-back so soon.

Chelsea to miss out on Marc Guehi?

Chelsea have other defenders on their list of targets, with Sky Sports claiming Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Ajax’s Jorrel Hato could be names worth watching.

Guehi could have been a fine option for the Blues, however, while Newcastle could also do well to bring in someone of his calibre.

Both CFC and NUFC will have big ambitions as they close in on Champions League qualification, but it could be tricky competing with all the prestige and honour associated with Real and Barca.
