Pompey announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.
Johnson spent the second half of last season with Blackburn Rovers after returning to England following the conclusion of her studies in the United States. The player went on to make nine appearances for the Lancashire club. The left-wing-back was effectively made redundant by Rovers at the end of last season when they resigned from Barclays WSL2.
Earlier in her career, Johnson was a member of progressive environments at Leicester City and Nottingham Forest.
After adding Johnson to his squad, Portsmouth boss Jay Sadler said “We’re really pleased to bring Lucy into the group. She’s an attack-minded fullback who showed her quality during a short spell in the Championship last season.
“Being naturally left-footed, she adds great balance to our backline, and her dynamic style fits exactly what we’re looking for. I’m really looking forward to working with her and seeing how she develops with us.”
Johnson is Portsmouth’s third signing of the summer transfer window. The club have also brought in Jasmine Bull and Jess Gray this summer.
