Inter announce that Marcus Thuram has been diagnosed with ‘fatigue in the adductor muscles of his left thigh,’ so his condition will be assessed day by day.
Inter striker Thuram has suffered a minor muscle injury, which leaves him in serious doubt for Sunday’s Serie A game against Bologna at the Stadio Dall’Ara.
“This morning, Marcus Thuram underwent medical exams at the Istituto Humanitas di Rozzano,” Inter said in an official statement.
“The tests revealed fatigue in the adductor muscles of his left thigh. His condition will be assessed day by day.”
The France star looked exhausted after a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, which still allowed the Serie A giants to qualify for the Champions League semifinals for the second time in three seasons.
Inter meet fifth-placed Bologna in the next Serie A match at the Stadio Dall’Ara before a Coppa Italia semifinal second leg against Milan on April 23.
The Nerazzurri are running for the treble, so they have a very packed fixture list, which could see them play up to 11 games in the last six weeks of the season.
Thuram has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 44 games across all competitions this season.
