Barcelona have made decent progress on the departure front this summer despite no exit being confirmed yet. Ansu Fati and Pablo Torre are both closing in on departures and announcements are expected in the coming week.

The next player poised to leave after the aforementioned duo is Pau Victor, the team’s young striker who Hansi Flick maintained reasonable faith in last season.

While the coach is indeed happy with Victor, the sporting management understands that the best move for all parties involved would be for him to leave and gain exposure outside Catalonia to keep growing. A sale with a repurchase option, thus, is being considered.

Several clubs interested

As advanced by SPORT in a recent update, Victor is highly valued and has attracted interest from several first-division teams in Spain. After all, strikers have become valuable in today’s transfer market.

Getafe, Sevilla, Celta Vigo, Mallorca, Sevilla, Valencia, Real Betis, Osasuna, and even the newly promoted Real Oviedo have all enquired about his availability and shown interest in procuring his services.

Of all the aforementioned clubs, Real Betis currently appear best placed to sign the striker especially given the good relations they have maintained with Barcelona in recent years.

In fact, Los Verdiblancos were even willing to accommodate Victor for six months in January if Barcelona were unwilling to complete his registration at the time and their interest in the player, thus, is not new.

The final decision will be taken by Barcelona and the player himself based on the sporting and economic considerations involved. The Catalans, after all, hope to make a decent profit on his sale given their financial situation.

Last season, the 23-year-old made 21 La Liga appearances for Barcelona in La Liga and had two goals and one assist to show. He averaged just 16 minutes per game and 0.4 key passes per 90 minutes.
