First a reminder of Sandman’s season review mention for Nicolas Kühn, you can read Sandman HERE.
Nicolas Kuhn has been linked with more than a few clubs in the past week. RB Leipzig, Newcastle and Como, although it looks as if the latter have pulled out of the running after splashing €28 million on Spanish winger Jesus Rodriguez.
Earlier suiters Brentford are also said still to be keen on the German, and it seems only a matter of time before one of the interested clubs makes a formal bid for his signature. Nicolas Kühn is a fantastic player who none of us want to leave, but it’s quite clear that the player harbours ambitions of a move elsewhere so ultimately we will have no option but to bow to his wishes. That after all is the business model.

That’s fine, that’s life and he will go with our best regards, but when and he does go it should be for a fee no less than £20 million. He’s a player with four years of his contract still remaining, not to mention that he’s also a player who has performed at the highest level of the game so it’s only right that we expect and demand the going rate for his signature.
Celtic need top performers in the Champions League, not just at Scottish domestic level and alongside the likes of Daizen Maeda an of course Callum McGregor, Kuhn is tried and tested at that level, thus the interest in him from multiple clubs, including RB Leipzig who know only to well his quality playing in the Champions League.

Brendan Rodgers, you would imagine, would be more than happy keeping Nicolas Kühn at the club for another season at least. But it’s usually inevitable that Celtic will sell a prize asset in the summer. Last year it was Matt O’Riley, this time around it’s Nicolas Kühn. The key surely has to be that the club get fair value and there are no bargain hunters walking away with another great deal from Celtic.
We all thought those days were gone.
