Former Celtic transfer target Louie Barry looks set to make a £3.5m move from Aston Villa. Celtic maintained interest of the attacker over the last year but decided against pursuing a move in January as the player switched to Hull City on a temporary basis.
Now, it appears that the player is set to depart Villa Park as Unai Emery’s side look to comply with PSR rules. Hull have looked to secure the ex-Barcelona talent making his loan move permanent. As reported by The Athletic, Barry will swap the Premier League side for the EFL Championship but Villa will retain a sizeable sell-on to protect their interest in the asset.
Celtic opted against a move for the player, deciding to continue with Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah with the returning Johnny Kenny supplementing the frontmen.
Celtic have added Callum Osmond from Fulham today having already signed attacking midfielder Benji Nygren, Ross Doohan and, of course, Kieran Tierney. The Scottish Champions will be eager to continue getting their business done in a timeous fashion, providing quality across the squad as Brendan targets further progression in Europe as well as continued domestic dominance.
