AC Milan Primavera’s hopes of getting back into contention for top spot were dealt a blow on Monday night as they lost 3-0 at home to Roma.
After three consecutive league wins, Federico Guidi’s side had their good run snapped against Lecce last night out as they lost 2-0 to them, but they rebounded with a UEFA Youth League victory over Slovan Bratislava.
The game against Roma saw Milan welcome a team one point lower in the standings and hoping to put a dent in Sassuolo’s six-point lead at the top, but the game fell apart inside four first-half minutes.
The Giallorossi found the lead through a Misitano penalty that Alessandro Longoni initially saved but couldn’t stop the rebound. Graziani got the second one shortly after, and in the second half Misitano got himself a brace.
Mattia Liberali’s red card further compromised the final minutes as Milan stay in seventh in the table. The focus now shifts to the next fixture: on Saturday 7 December, the team will travel to Genoa to face Sampdoria.
