Manchester United deal PSG blow in pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain are looking to reinforce their backline this summer. There are continued concerns surrounding the fitness of Presnel Kimpembe, who has not featured since February 2023, Danilo Pereira could depart, and as could Milan Skriniar, despite the Slovakian international’s desire to remain at the club, one year after arriving on a free transfer from Inter Milan.

PSG have therefore made a lengthy shortlist of potential candidates. Lille OSC’s Leny Yoro features on the top of the pile, however, a move for the Frenchman looks difficult amid Real Madrid’s interest. Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt (24), the subject of interest from Les Parisiens in January, also reportedly features on that list, however, their pursuit of the Netherlands international looks unlikely to be successful.

De Ligt has already agreed to join Manchester United, as per Fabrizio Romano and as a result, and in spite of PSG’s interest, there are currently no talks between the Ligue 1 champions and the Bayern Munich centre-back. Manchester United remain in talks with Bayern Munich in order to conclude a deal.
