Puma and Manchester City have unveiled yet another bold kit design for the 2025/26 season, this time taking inspiration from the Mancunian weather.

The new release adds a further creative twist to City’s matchday wardrobe for the coming campaign, arriving as the latest product of the club’s ongoing partnership with Puma.

The third kit follows the unveiling of the home and away strips earlier in the summer, continuing the trend of designs that capture elements of Manchester’s identity and culture, to be worn across all competitions during the season.

For supporters, the launch marks the completion of City’s 2025/26 kit range ahead of a year that has already seen high-profile player arrivals, pre-season preparations in full swing, and the squad set to debut their new looks in competitive action within days.

The third kit will also be made available in both men’s and women’s fits, ensuring a unified presence across Pep Guardiola’s and Andrée Jeglertz’s sides.

This season’s third design could also hold special marketing significance for the club. Given City’s global profile, kits that tie directly to the city’s weather, history, or landmarks tend to become instant collector’s items for fans worldwide.

The rain-inspired look has already drawn strong engagement across the club’s social media platforms, suggesting a positive reception from supporters before the shirt even hits retail stores in volume.

As revealed on Thursday ahead of the start of the brand new 2025/26 season, Manchester City have unveiled their new third kit taking inspiration from the grey skies of the north-west region and the rain that has become synonymous with Manchester over the years.

The design itself sees an all-over raindrop graphic cover the jersey and shorts, contrasted with vibrant neon green accents across the neck, shoulders and side panels, while a green-to-blue gradient runs down the centralised PUMA and Club logos and into the socks resembling water.

Completing the design, the Club crest also features a transparent finish that mimics water droplets on a window, while the kit itself is said to carry a message from Manchester: even when it rains, we shine.

Speaking as part of the club’s launch, Director of Retail & Licensing at Manchester City, Serena Gosling said, “Today is an exciting day, with the launch of this year’s Third kit, just ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season, and the Women’s Super League starting next month.

“As part of our creative process, PUMA and the Club explore different design directions for each kit, taking inspiration from the city of Manchester, the Club’s history and other cultural influences. We’re looking forward to seeing players wearing the kits on the pitch this season.”

PUMA’s Senior Director of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, Marco Mueller said, “The people of Manchester have a deep-rooted love for football, as both a sense of pride and community belonging.

“This kit brings those two traits together, to create a truly unique kit that does things a little different. We decided to design a kit that not only embraces the rainy Manchester weather but also the fact the fans stick by the team ‘Rain or Shine’.”

The first opportunity for fans to see the third kit in action is expected to come during City’s early-season fixtures, with Pep Guardiola’s men set for both domestic and European commitments in quick succession.

If recent seasons are any indication, Manchester City will likely reserve the shirt for select away matches or UEFA Champions League nights, adding to its mystique.

In commercial terms, the kit could enjoy strong sales given the novelty of its concept and the vibrant colour detailing, appealing to both match-going fans and international supporters.
