With Kylian Mbappe now in their ranks, Real Madrid are one of the most frightening teams in world football. Surprisingly, however, they are also one of the clubs with the best-managed finances.

Los Blancos’ carefully planned fiscal management places the team well in terms of future transfer markets and it is clear that there is no slowing down Florentino Perez.

Erling Haaland, on that front, has long been linked as a target for Real Madrid and the club could well go after the striker in the upcoming windows.

Haaland keeping his doors open

As revealed on the covers of MARCA, Manchester City are working hard to renew the Norwegian striker’s contract and thus tie him down to the Etihad Stadium for the long term.

The player, for his part, is open to the renewal and does not see it with bad eyes. However, he continues to leave the door open for a potential transfer to Real Madrid as it is his dream to don the white colour jersey.

The 24-year-old’s current deal in England sees him with the Blues until the summer of 2027 and reportedly even has a clause that can see him leave for a club outside the Premier League for a reasonable price.

If a renewal is negotiated, it remains to be seen if Haaland maintains such a clause or pushes to include a special clause for Los Blancos. His release clause, after all, would be impossible to fulfil.

In just three Premier League games this season, the Norwegian star has found the back of the net seven times from an xG of just 3.77.

In fact, he is not far from hitting the 100-goal mark for Manchester City and is by far the best striker in world football.
