Mainz show interest in Danish prospect Oscar Fraulo | OneFootball

Sport Bild reports that Mainz 05 are interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Oscar Fraulo. Since signing for his current Bundesliga outfit in the January 2022 transfer window, Fraulo has made just two appearances for the Gladbach senior side. The heavily-capped Danish youth international recently returned from an extended two-year loan-stint with FC Utrecht and maintains an estimated market value of €3.5m

Despite the fact that Fraulo did enjoy some success in Holland’s Eredivisie, the 21-year-old isn’t thought to have much prospects with the Niederrheiner. Mainz head coach Bo Henriksen – who once coached Fraulo at Midtjylland between 2021 and 2022 – could offer the youngster some prospects. Fraulo’s skill as an attacking midfielder could see him deployed among midfield mainstays Kaishu Sano and Nadiem Amiri.

German European representatives Mainz are themselves flush with cash following the finalization of Jonathan Burkardt’s €21m sale to Eintracht Frankfurt. The Rheinhessen run an estimated +€12.5m summer transfer surplus. Such cash reserves will almost certainly yield two to three more signings.
