It goes without saying that one of the biggest breakthrough names of the 2024-25 Bundesliga season was Mainz's Paul Nebel.
After providing 10 goals and 4 assists in 31 games, Nebel went on to become a U-21 EUROs runner-up with Germany this summer.
Delivering more impressive displays, Mainz head coach Bo Henriksen can only see his financial stock rising.
“It is very important for Paul to play more, to continue developing here with us for another year.
"Then we can sell him for 80 million next year,” the 50-year-old smiled, as he told interviewers at his media round.
According to the Dane, he would be worth even more at other clubs: “If he played in Stuttgart or Dortmund, they would sell him for 100 million.”
Whether that will happen remains to be seen - Nebel's contract expires in 2027, making it harder to generate maximum profits.
Furthermore, the attack-minded midfielder is yet to publicly speak about his plans for the future.
