Having progressed to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League at Liverpool’s expense, Paris Saint-Germain are now one of the favourites to go on and win the whole thing.

Opta have PSG as the second favourites to win this year’s Champions League, behind only Barcelona. Last season, Les Parisiens made it to the semi-final of the competition, only to be knocked out by Borussia Dortmund. The Ligue 1 side are yet to win the competition but did make the final back in the 2020 season. They came unstuck against Bayern Munich on that occasion.

PSG have already wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with six games to spare, whilst Liverpool, who were beaten by the French side on penalties in the Round of 16, are on course to wrap up the Premier League. Aston Villa lie in seventh, 22 points back from the Merseyside club.

However, for Luis Enrique, there is no favourite between PSG and Aston Villa as they prepare to meet in the first leg of the quarter-final at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. “I think it’s level. Against Liverpool, everyone said that we had no chance. We need to do what we have to do to progress,” said the Spaniard.
