Kean breaks Italy goal drought after 3 years | OneFootball

Moise Kean has ended his Italy drought after precisely 3 years, as he had not found the net for the Nazionale since September 2021.

The striker started this evening’s Nations League match against Israel, played on neutral turf in Budapest.

He was in the right place at the right time to meet the rebound when Giacomo Raspadori’s effort was parried into his path.

This was the fifth goal he scored in 17 senior caps for the Nazionale, the first since a 5-0 victory over Lithuania on September 8, 2021.

His other goals both came in March 2019 against Finland and Liechtenstein.

Kean ending goal droughts in 2024

Kean had failed to find the net in all competition at club level for one year and 143 days, breaking that drought for Fiorentina against Puskas Akademia in the Conference League play-off on August 22.

He went on to score three goals in five games for the Viola since his transfer from Juventus.
