Como are finally on the verge of wrapping up a deal for former Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, in a deal that will raise valuable funds for both Milan and Galatasaray.

Morata joined Milan from Atletico Madrid for a fee of €13m just under a year ago, but failed to impress in an underwhelming season on a collective level, and ended up on loan in Istanbul by the end of the January transfer window.

Galatasaray had agreed to take Morata on a year-long loan deal until the following winter, in a deal that included an option to extend the deal until the summer of 2026 and an option to make the move permanent.

However, as Cesc Fabregas has been pushing to bring his former Chelsea and Spain national team colleague to Como, they and Milan have had to negotiate a termination of the player’s loan agreement with Galatasaray.

According to reports from Daniele Longo and others on Thursday, Galatasaray will receive a fee of €3m plus up to €2m in bonuses, which is down from the €6m fee they had previously sought.

Milan, meanwhile, will send Morata out on loan to Como with an obligation to buy. The Rossoneri will receive €1m for the loan and €8m once the move is made permanent.
