Hansi Flick reveals he ‘congratulated’ Barcelona star for showing vs Rayo Vallecano | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick passed a message of congratulations to a member of his squad, on the back of the club’s latest outing.

The player in question? Joan García.

Barcelona were of course back in action on Sunday evening, after making the trip to Madrid for a La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano.

When all was said and done on a disappointing night for the Blaugrana, they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

This came after Lamine Yamal’s opener was cancelled out by Fran Pérez during the 2nd-half.

Had it not been for the aforementioned Joan, though, things could have been a lot worse for Barcelona…

As his teammates struggled badly at Vallecas, summer signing Joan shone between the posts, conjuring up a string of top-class saves to keep the Catalans in things.

And the significance of as much was not at all lost on his manager.

Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, Hansi Flick explained:

“I congratulated Joan on his performance. It was great to see that and the way he builds the play. He didn’t make any mistakes today and has great confidence in building the attack. It was wonderful to bring in a player like him.”
