Barcelona closed their first signing of the summer this week in the form of Joan Garcia and are working to rope in Nico Williams next.

The 22-year-old winger will cost €62 million (release clause + CPI) which is unlikely to be a problem for Barça but registering him in La Liga could be a challenge due to the Fair Play situation.

As such, there has been some talk of one or two notable sales being required. Marc-Andre ter Stegen, for one, is expected to depart while Ronald Araujo’s €60 million release clause in the first two weeks of the transfer window makes him a candidate as well.

Fermin Lopez is another player for whom Barcelona would not rule out an exit for a big offer even though he has not been put up for sale outright.

However, as per Gerard Romero, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is unwilling to listen to offers for Fermin Lopez this summer.

The German tactician is aware that there may be some departures that he does not like but for now, he wishes to keep hold of the 22-year-old La Masia attacking midfielder, whom he considers an important part of the team.

Despite not having a lot of prominence at the start of the season, Fermin ended the campaign with 18 goal contributions in 46 games, proving his worth with his attacking output, work rate, and energy.

The Spanish international has been on the radars of clubs in the Premier League and Saudi Arabia.

As such, there is a possibility that financially attractive offers might arrive for Fermin this summer, but at this point, Flick is insistent that the youngster should be retained by the Blaugrana.

The player too, for his part, has no plans of leaving. But the summer is long and whether his stance changes depending on the role he has and the minutes he gets remains to be seen.
