Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu looked “confused” and “sloppy” for Inter Milan as they lost 0-1 to Roma in Serie A yesterday.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Hakan Calhanoglu started in holding midfield for Inter Milan against Roma yesterday.
The 31-year-old is a key player at the heart of Inter’s midfield trio.
But yesterday evening, the Turkish international really struggled with the pace of the match.

Hakan Calhanoglu had plenty to do as Roma looked to hit Inter with quick passing moves straight through midfield.
The spaces appeared frequently. And Calhanoglu deserved his share of the blame for failing to spot the right positions in central areas.
Therefore, Roma had the freedom of the park at times. Calhanoglu’s defensive impact wasn’t close to what it can be at the former AC Milan midfielder’s best.
Meanwhile, Calhanoglu was also not at his best in possession.
In the second half in particular, Inter completely dominated the ball.
But for all the touches that he had of the ball, Calhanoglu failed to produce anything really telling, apart from one well-weighted ball to find Marko Arnautovic.
There were a couple off-target efforts from Calhanoglu as Inter chased an equalizer. And that just about summed up the Turk’s afternoon.
