Everton are targeting a loan deal for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish ahead of the new season, according to The Athletic.

Grealish started just seven Premier League games last term and was an unused substitute in the FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace.

He registered just one goal and one assist across the league campaign.

Interest from Everton has been present for some time, but Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers claims no formal talks are ongoing at this stage.

The situation has remained unchanged since the start of the transfer window, and City are yet to decide whether to keep Grealish, loan him out or sanction a permanent move.

However, Myers believes there is still potential for a deal to be agreed.

Grealish’s time at City fading after mega move

Grealish joined Manchester City from Villa in a deal worth £100 million in 2021. The move made him the club’s record signing at the time.

He lifted the Premier League title for three years in a row and played a significant role in City’s 2022-23 treble-winning run.

The former Villa captain made 50 appearances that season. He started every Champions League knockout tie and also played from the start in the final.

However, he played 20 league matches the following season, starting just 10. He contributed only one goal and two assists across all competitions.

Grealish has also fallen out of favour with the national team. He was left out of the England squad for the 2024 European Championship and is yet to earn a recall under new manager Thomas Tuchel.

Everton keen to add experience to their attack

Everton are looking to boost their options in the final third ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and view Grealish as a potential solution.

The Merseyside club are also keeping tabs on Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling, with attacking reinforcements a clear priority.

Negotiations are still at an early stage, but the Toffees are pushing to secure a deal before the window closes.
