Barcelona’s Ansu Fati (22) is nearing a loan move to AS Monaco, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist understands that there were problems with the deal that arose over the weekend, however, they have since been resolved.

Monaco have already concluded the signing of Eric Dier, who arrives on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Bayern Munich. Les Monégasques could also sign another former Tottenham Hotspur man on a free transfer, with discussions underway with Sergio Reguilón.

Fati, who has struggled for game time at Barcelona in recent years, could become the Principality club’s latest recruit. The Ligue 1 side are once again in advanced talks to sign the playmaker. The final steps need to be completed before he joins on an initial loan move, with an option to make the deal permanent for €12m. Romano adds that there is a “huge” sell-on clause included in the deal to take Fati to the Stade Louis II.
