Polish news outlet Przeglad Sportowy has revealed that the three-time Japanese international has already said goodbye to his teammates in the Polish capital and is finalising his move to the Championship side.

Morishita had only just made his move to Legia Warsaw permanent this past January, after arriving initially on loan from J-League side Nagoya Grampus.

But after an impressive 2024/25 campaign, where he registered 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions, he's on the move again, this time to the Championship to link up with Valerien Ismael at Blackburn.

And, after a tough few weeks seeing important players leave Ewood Park, the imminent arrival of a creative midfielder will definitely please Rovers' fans.

Przeglad Sportowy reports that Morishita is currently in England, finalising his move to Blackburn Rovers.

The report also states that the value will exceed €2 million (approx. £1.73 million) and that the move has come as a surprise to Legia fans, who had grown to love the Japanese midfielder in his short time at the club.

Morishita has made 78 appearances during his time in the Polish capital, scoring and assisting 15 goals.

He has already played 12 times this season, as Legia Warsaw have had to juggle European qualifiers alongside their domestic action to begin the campaign.

Last season, the 28-year-old played a big part in Legia's run to the UEFA Conference League quarter-finals, losing out to eventual winners Chelsea.

His goal in the second leg of their last 16 tie against Molde helped overturn a losing deficit and send his side through to the last eight to play against the Blues.

Meanwhile, Valerien Ismael's Blackburn side were victorious for the first time this season away at Hull City this past Saturday, running out convincing 3-0 winners.

There's the hope that adding more creativity will help boost the side as they aim to continue this momentum into the coming weeks.

There's been a lot of personnel changes at Ewood Park this summer, as Blackburn have parted ways with several important stars.

Tyrhys Dolan, Joe Rankin-Costello and Callum Brittain, three players who made over 100 appearances for Blackburn, have all departed.

On top of that, long-standing captain Lewis Travis looks to be on his way out too, as Derby County look to bring him to Pride Park.

There have been replacements for the outgoings at Ewood Park so far, but feelings among fans can become rather negative when a number of fan favourites all leave in the same window.

Given how quickly Legia Warsaw fans grew to like Morishita, there'll be some hope that his performances can get Blackburn fans onside immediately.

The 3-0 win at Hull helped boost morale, and to follow that up with a bright, creative midfielder, in the traditional 'prime years' of his career, will help boost that even more.

Valerien Ismael's side returns home to take on Norwich City this Saturday, and with Morishita already match fit, a debut for the 28-year-old could be imminent, as Rovers aim to make it two wins in a row before the first international break of the season.
