Celtic’s official website has announced broadcast details for Tuesday night’s Glasgow Cup Final against theRangers B Team at Partick Thistle’s Firhill stadium.
The club has also confirmed that there will be no public sale of tickets for a match that these days is now effectively played behind closed doors. Playing in front of a crowd is an essential learning experience for young players and a Glasgow Derby match in a cup final would clearly attract a decent turn-out from both sets of supporters.

If you look at women’s football, the to clubs play each other at Hampden – in the 2023 Women’s Scottish Cup final Celtic and theRangers fans shared the North Stand at Hampden at the final where Celtic won 2-0. Celtic had perhaps 60% of the crowd that day, and there was no bother whatsoever.

Why can’t the Glasgow Cup, such a historic competition in the Scottish game and the story of Celtic, not be played in front of supporters?
As a great name once said, ‘football without fans is nothing’.
Here’s the update on the Glasgow Cup Final posted on the official Celtic FC website:
Celtic FC B will face theRangers B in the 2024/25 Glasgow Cup final at Firhill on Tuesday, 29 April, with kick-off at 7pm. Stephen McManus’ side go into the final in fine form, having secured a convincing 5-1 victory over Clyde in the semi-final at the Albert Bartlett Stadium earlier this month. Having fallen 3-1 to Rangers B in the rescheduled 2023/24 Glasgow Cup final at Ochilview Park in December, the young Hoops will be looking to avenge that defeat in this latest Glasgow derby clash. Fans can watch all the action live on Celtic TV (available to subscribers worldwide) and Premier Sports.
Please note there will be no public sale of tickets for this fixture.
