The coming days could prove to be critical for Barcelona, who are expected to announce a series of renewals for their key players.
Fresh from announcing the contract extension of Hansi Flick yesterday, Barcelona are expected to officiate the renewal of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal in the coming days.
However, that won’t be the end of the road for Barça, who are poised to make more renewals next week.
According to Diario SPORT. Barcelona are set to confirm contract extensions for defenders Inigo Martinez and Eric Garcia, securing two pivotal pieces of Hansi Flick’s defensive setup.
Martinez, 34, has already agreed to extend his contract until 2027, a year beyond his previous 2026 expiry.
Flick, whose own contract runs until 2027, insisted on keeping the Basque centre-back, valuing his experience and leadership.

Eric Garcia’s renewal, however, is slightly more complex. The 24-year-old, whose contract also expires in 2026, is seeking a three-year extension.
While financial details are still being finalised, no major obstacles are anticipated. Flick has assured Garcia of a key role, a stark contrast to earlier doubts when a potential move to Girona was blocked by the manager.
Garcia’s versatility – excelling as a centre-back, central midfielder, and right-back – has proven invaluable, especially with standout performances against Inter and Real Madrid.
Both players have been personally briefed by Flick on his tactical vision, fostering strong connections with the German coach.
The official announcements, expected next week, will solidify Barcelona’s defensive core, at least for the next few years. It will also help Barcelona gain more clarity, as far as their plan for the defensive unit is concerned.
