According to a report by CuleMania, Barcelona have drawn up a shortlist of three high-profile forwards to bolster their frontline for the 2025/26 campaign.
With a hectic fixture list ahead and the club aiming to return to the top of European football, sporting director Deco and head coach Hansi Flick are actively seeking to add a “differential” player to increase competition in the final third.
While Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Raphinha remain key figures in the squad, and Ferran Torres has delivered his best season, the technical team believes another elite attacker is needed to maintain performance levels throughout the season.
Deco’s top choice is Luis Diaz. The Colombian winger is admired for his explosiveness, versatility, and flair—qualities that align perfectly with Barcelona’s attacking philosophy.
Diaz has played 48 matches this season, scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists. At 28 years old, he is at his peak and offers experience at the highest level.
However, Liverpool’s €85 million asking price is a major stumbling block. Despite that, he remains the preferred candidate and Deco is expected to explore different financial strategies to bring him in.

Plan B is Marcus Rashford. Despite a mixed season split between Manchester United and Aston Villa (on loan since February), the Englishman has still managed to tally 11 goals and 9 assists in 41 appearances.
The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and while United want around €40 million for a permanent deal, a loan with an option to buy could be a more realistic solution for Barça.
His versatility—being able to play on the left, through the centre, or even on the right—makes him an appealing backup plan.
The third name on the list is Nico Williams. While his talent is undisputed and he continues to shine at Athletic Club, Joan Laporta has publicly admitted that the winger is unlikely to join Barça.
Last year, Nico rejected Barcelona due to uncertainties about registration and salary cap issues.
That decision, combined with his current market value and contract situation, makes him a long shot compared to Diaz or Rashford.
