Barcelona starlet explains Joshua Kimmich nickname | OneFootball

Barcelona youngster Marc Casadó has on Thursday provided an insight into the reasoning behind his head-turning nickname in the club’s squad.

For those who may have missed it, midfielder Casadó’s Blaugrana nickname has been made public knowledge over the last couple of weeks.

As much comes owing to the social media activity on the part of teammate Alejandro Balde.

With Casadó now a full-time member of the first-team ranks in Catalunya’s capital, the 20-year-old has featured in each of Barcelona’s first two pre-season fixtures.

Post-match on each occasion, he has in turn taken to Instagram, to post photos of himself in action.

And taking to the comments section of both posts was the aforementioned Balde, to liken his fellow La Masia product to Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich:

Speaking to the media on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of as much was put to Casadó himself.

And the Spaniard went on to highlight his alleged physical likeness with Kimmich, as well as his ability to take to the pitch in multiple positions:

“Kimmich as my nickname? They say physically I look a little like him. Last season I ended up playing as a right-back and midfielder. The joke inside the locker room, they put it on the internet and now see…”
