Barcelona star to undergo surgery on Monday | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been scheduled to go under the knife this coming Monday.

That’s according to Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who points towards Marc Bernal as the player in question.

Youngster Bernal is for his part of course in the midst of an altogether difficult couple of weeks.

After something of a dream start to the campaign, culminating in a trio of successive first-team starts for Hansi Flick’s Barca, the 17-year-old suffered an untimely injury setback.

Forced into a premature departure from the Blaugrana’s 2-1 downing of Rayo Vallecano, Bernal was subsequently confirmed to have torn the ACL in his left knee.

The medical team in Catalunya’s capital have since been extremely cautious with the midfield prodigy, waiting for the precise right moment to operate on his knee.

And, as alluded to above, this weekend, the date for as much has been set.

As per a report from Barcelona insider Javier Miguel:

‘Marc Bernal will finally undergo surgery early on Monday, according to AS. Thirteen days after he had to leave the Vallecas pitch, limping and visibly affected, the young midfielder will put himself in the hands of specialist surgeon Joan Carles Monllau.’
