One of the most highly-regarded academy products on the books of La Liga giants Barcelona is expected to be afforded a call-up to the club’s first-team squad this weekend.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Guille Fernández as the player in question.
Youngster Guille, for his part, is in the midst of a fine start to the campaign, on the books of Barca Atlètic.
So much so that, earlier this week, the midfielder was drafted into senior training in Catalunya’s capital by Blaugrana headmaster Hansi Flick.
And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to go by, then Guille, evidently, managed to make a positive impression.
As per the aforementioned Sport, the absence of the 16-year-old from Barca Atlètic’s squad to face Unionistas comes with the Spaniard, once more, having been called up to first-team duties.
Not only that, but, with Fermín López on the sidelines, Guille is expected to be given the nod to take his place on the bench on Sunday, too, for Barcelona’s return to La Liga action against Girona.
