Barcelona have been actively working on securing the long-term futures of their key players, and after successfully renewing the contracts of several young stars, the club is now shifting its focus to the next set of extensions.

According to recent reports from Mundo Deportivo, Deco is now prioritising new deals for Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Jules Kounde.

In recent months, the Blaugrana finalised the contract renewals of four crucial players—Pedri, Gavi, Pau Cubarsi, and Ronald Araujo.

With those extensions completed, Deco is preparing a second phase of renewals to further solidify the Barcelona squad. The team has shown great promise this season, and the sporting director wants to ensure stability by securing key players for the long term.

Lamine Yamal and Raphinha’s case

One of the top priorities is Yamal. As reported before, the club has an agreement with his agent, Jorge Mendes, to extend his contract once he turns 18 in July, keeping him at the club until 2030.

However, since the agreement was made while Yamal was still a minor, there is a possibility that the terms might need to be adjusted. As it stands, his current deal runs until 2027, with a staggering €1 billion release clause.

Raphinha is another player whose future is under discussion. The Brazilian has been in excellent form and has a contract until 2027, but his wages are relatively modest compared to his market value, which currently stands at €80 million.

Given his performances and the importance Flick places on him, Barcelona are considering offering him an extension of two to three years. Unless something drastically changes by the end of the season, the club sees him as a key figure moving forward.

What about Kounde?

Kounde, who also has a contract until 2027, is expected to be part of Barcelona’s long-term plans as well. Despite being a natural centre-back, he has formed a strong partnership with Yamal and provides defensive stability.

While his renewal is not as urgent as others, his contributions to the team make him an important part of the project.

Barcelona’s strategy is clear—they want to secure the future of their core squad members to ensure long-term success.

With Deco leading the negotiations, the club is determined to keep its most valuable players and build a competitive team for the years ahead.
