Barcelona planning new approach for Liverpool star after Nico Williams’ latest snub | OneFootball

After having signed the goalkeeper Joan Garcia and renewing several of their most important players in the last few months, things were looking quite good for FC Barcelona as they look to strengthen their team for the upcoming season.

In addition to a new goalkeeper, the Blaugranes were also looking to sign a new forward for the left wing, and for this purpose, they had a clear favorite, i.e., the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.

However, the Catalans have faced a significant setback in the market as the Spanish winger decided to sign a renewal with the Basque club till 2035. To rub further salt on the wound, the player also featured in a video published by Athletic Club in which he can be heard saying:

“When it comes to making decisions, for me, the most important thing is to listen to your heart. I am where I want to be, with my people. This is my home.”

Having lost out on such an important transfer target, Barcelona will have to turn to other candidates to strengthen their attack.

In this regard, the name of the Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, who was previously reported to be the favorite candidate of Hansi Flick and Deco, is once again emerging linked with the Blaugrana club.

In this regard, the journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms that Barcelona are now planning for a new approach for Diaz in the coming days or weeks.

However, this operation is not going to be easy, as the journalist goes on to report that Liverpool have closed the door on a potential exit for Diaz, both to the Catalans, and Bayern Munich, who are also linked with the Colombian.

Meanwhile, the Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford also remains keen to play for the Blaugrana club, and it remains to be seen how these moves now develop after such a serious setback.
