The future of Inaki Pena has been a key talking point at Barcelona in recent weeks, as the club desperately look to offload the goalkeeper.
Barcelona’s idea is to renew the contract of Inaki until 2027 before sending him out on loan with a mandatory purchase option.
Pena’s exit could be crucial as Barcelona look to register Wojciech Szczesny, the club’s second-choice goalkeeper.
According to SPORT, Inaki Pena is inching closer to his Barcelona exit as the goalkeeper is currently finalising his renewal.
Pena could be looking at a salary deferment in his new contract at Barcelona, who are hoping that the goalkeeper can make a big impact on loan.
While the contract negotiations won’t likely cause any problems, where the goalkeeper will join next still appears convoluted.

Como and Celta Vigo have emerged as the two potential suitors for Pena, with the Serie A outfit, in particular, determined to sign the player this summer.
As for Celta, the Spanish outfit must generate salary space in order to bring in new players, but the club remain keen on acquiring the services of the Barcelona goalkeeper.
The final decision will be up to Pena. He will have to decide which club can give him better prospects of first-team action.
Barcelona, for their part, will be ideally hoping for Como to sign Pena as the Italian outfit have the means to sign the player permanently next season, provided he can impress in the Serie A.
The coming days, therefore, could prove to be crucial as Inaki Pena looks to finalise his future and brace himself for a new adventure elsewhere.
