After his first week with Barcelona, Englishman Marcus Rashford performed well in his first official appearance for the Catalan team against Real Mallorca. He appears to have adapted quickly to the team, a fact he revealed to Diario Sport.
Having made the switch to Catalonia on a season-long loan from Manchester United this summer, the player spoke openly about his optimism for the upcoming chapter. He admitted to feeling immediately at home within the club's environment and was quick to praise Barcelona itself, calling it a magnificent city to live in.
Adapting to life in a new country extends beyond the pitch, and the English forward has fully embraced the challenge. He spoke about the cultural transition, highlighting his commitment to integrating by taking up Spanish lessons. Not one to shy away from a challenge, he also expressed an ambition to tackle the local Catalan dialect, acknowledging its significant difficulty.
When they are having fun with each other, they call me "sweetie". I don't know what that means, but it's funny when they talk to you like that.
Rashford said.
In a lighter moment, he also shared that his new colleagues have already welcomed him in a time-honored football tradition: by bestowing upon him an amusing locker-room nickname, the details of which he kept to himself.
