Barcelona ‘finalising’ deal for another important financial boost | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona are working towards closing an agreement for a fresh sponsor partnership.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have this weekend provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona’s stars, as things stand, take to the pitch donning a pair of brand names, on their jersey front, and sleeves.

And, as per MD, work is now well underway to add a further sponsor, on this occasion to the Blaugrana’s shorts:

‘During the board meeting held yesterday, this possibility was discussed given that there is the option for Barça to incorporate a sponsor for the first team’s shorts.’

Not only that, but a definitive agreement towards as much is labelled as close, currently being ‘finalised’ with an unnamed brand through Joan Laporta and his sponsors.

Though no exact figure is provided when it comes to the monetary gain set to come the way of Barca for the operation, a minimum of ‘a few million a year’ is expected.

It is concluded that:

‘It would mean an injection into the club’s profit and loss account and into the fair play section because nothing has ever been earned from this space and that counts in Barcelona’s favour in this sense.’
