Barcelona are heading into the summer transfer window knowing fully well that the club are in desperate need of fresh sales.

One of the players facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou is Andreas Christensen, with sporting director Deco making it clear that Barcelona must sell at least one centre-back this summer.

There are currently five centre-backs available at the disposal of Hansi Flick going into the new season. And one of them has to go.

Christensen is at the bottom of the pecking order

As highlighted by MARCA, Christensen remains the likeliest to leave Barcelona this summer as the club look to trim its options at centre-back.

Among the five options, Christensen sits at the bottom of the barrel, with Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez being the untouchable ones.

Ronald Araujo was linked with a move away from Catalonia this summer. But the Uruguayan international has shown exceptional commitment by cutting short his vacation and returning to training early.

As for Eric Garcia, the Spaniard is highly favoured by the coaching staff due to his versatility. In fact, Barcelona are looking to renew the contract of the former Man City starlet soon.

This leaves Christensen as the odd one out. Although the Dane has shown no intention to leave, he does have a few things to consider.

For one, Christensen must know that his lack of game-time at Barcelona next season may jeopardise his chances to play the 2026 FIFA World Cup for Denmark.

On the flip side, if he does leave next summer, he will have the opportunity to earn a signing-on fee from his future club.

But that may come at the expense of potentially missing out on the FIFA World Cup. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the Dane approaches this matter.
