Previously, reports suggested that certain board members could offer personal guarantees as a Plan B to ensure Joan Garcia’s registration. However, that route may not be ideal for the club at the moment.

Barcelona to hold important meeting

According to the Tu Diras program on RAC1 (via Mundo Deportivo), Barcelona’s Board of Directors will hold an extraordinary meeting today, with Financial Fair Play issues at the top of the agenda.

The meeting comes amid concerns about overspending across the club’s various sports sections, particularly basketball.

The report states that a guarantee of €7 million could be requested from board members to address the situation.

Yet there is reluctance to provide such guarantees, largely because this is an election year, which raises the financial risk for those contributing their own capital.

Either way, the matter is one to watch closely. The La Liga opener against RCD Mallorca is fast approaching, and for now, the only registered goalkeeper in the squad is Inaki Pena, who appears to be on his way out.
