In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester United have launched a move for Barcelona playmaker Fermin Lopez. It has been stated that the Red Devils have made an offer close to €80m to sign the Spanish attacker this summer.
Lopez enjoyed a decent run of form at the Catalan club in the previous campaign after he put in a handful of impressive displays for them in La Liga. The Spanish sensation made 46 appearances for Barca last season, scoring eight times and grabbing ten assists on all fronts.
The 22-year-old proved his worth in the final third by averaging 2.95 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 36.6% of his attempts on target. Lopez even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 81.8% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Catalan club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to land him on the cheap this off-season.

Lopez can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third.
The Spanish sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-winger if asked to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to bring him on board.
Lopez would enhance the quality of Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s starting XI. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford this season.
At 22, Lopez has got a bright future ahead of him. Thus, he would be an excellent option for Man United to consider in the long run. However, Amorim has to give him some time before he can unlock the best out of the talented attacker at the Mancunian club.
