Celtic face Aberdeen at Pittodrie in the first away outing of the season. The Scottish Champions travel to the North East to face Aberdeen as they look to exact revenge after the Scottish Cup Final in May.
Brendan Rodgers will want his side to make it two wins from two but they’ll know that it requires a good performance to pick up three points from Pittodrie.
Celtic managed to get across the line against St Mirren last weekend thanks to a late goal from Luke McCowan. The Scottish midfielder will hope that he can force a way into Brendan’s first team. However, it may be that Arne Engels comes into the side to add power and quality into the midfield at the expense of Benji Nygren.
There are no new signings to add to the squad ahead of the game against Aberdeen. JSP was added to the squad last weekend but the central defender from Manchester City was not confirmed until during the week.
Yang, Shin Yamada and Johnny Kenny will be on the bench, looking to come on and impact the game.
Celtic captain Callum McGregor runs away from goal celebrating after scoring to give Celtic a 1-0 lead before it was disallowed by referee Don Robertson following a VAR check for handball by McGregor in the build up to the goal. Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals.
In defence, Alistair Johnston and Kieran Tierney will start at full back with Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales in the central pairing. Expect a change in the midfield with Arne Engels coming in for Nygren. Engels will start in the midfield with Reo Hatate and skipper Callum McGregor.
James Forrest impressed off the bench and you’d expected him to start with Adam Idah in the middle with Daizen Maeda on the wing.
Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Tierney, Carter-Vickers, Scales Johnston; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Maeda, Idah & Forrest.

The SFA have confirmed the appointment of experienced referee John Beaton for the game.
Beaton takes charge with David McGeachie and Graeme Stewart assisting.
Meanwhile at Clydesdale House, Andrew Dallas is on VAR and he is assisted by Alan Mulvanny.
Beaton last took charge of Celtic in April with Brendan Rodgers’ side dismantling Killie 5-1 and before that it was the February meeting against Jimmy Thelin’s side at Celtic Park; which also ended in a 5-1 win for Celtic.
