The 6th edition of the PSG Academy Cup Brazil will be remembered as an unforgettable moment, marking an important milestone in the history of the PSG Academy in Brazil.
Held at the Arena das Dunas in Natal, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, from 16 to 22 December 2024, the event brought together around 2,500 people, including 923 players accompanied by their families, in a festive, sporting atmosphere packed with entertainment. The players had the chance to play on the pitch of a 2014 World Cup stadium known for hosting some memorable matches.
Over five days of competition, 81 teams from 25 PSG Academy units across Brazil played a total of 323 intense matches. These matches, broadcast live on the PSG Academy Brazil YouTube channel, offered an impressive spectacle with 980 goals scored.
The experience, which began on arrival at Natal airport, was marked by a spectacular opening ceremony, during which the players introduced themselves in a lap of honour. Olivier Bertuel, CEO of PSG Academy Brazil, and Diego Jatobá, Director of Events, took to the stage to share their enthusiasm and perspectives.
Diego Jatobá said: 'This event has exceeded all our expectations. We introduced some major innovations, and the opening ceremony was a real spectacle. Despite the challenges we faced, we succeeded in offering new experiences with remarkable excellence. In the end, the result exceeded all our expectations, thanks to careful planning and flawless execution.'
In addition to the matches, the event offered a variety of activities to enrich the experience of the participants. Players were able to experience a unique moment by taking part in post-match press conferences to share their thoughts with journalists.
To celebrate the local culture, Natal's cuisine was showcased in a social zone, allowing everyone to fully discover the richness of the region. A photo stand, a children's area, video games and many other activities completed the off-field experience.
The Guest Relations and Concierge services were also on hand to answer any questions and help participants and their families make the most of their stay, both on site and in the city of Natal. The official PSG Academy Brazil shop was also present.
The event took place in a friendly, family atmosphere, typical of PSG Academy events in Brazil. Parents, coaches and families shared moments of emotion, joy and pride as they watched the young talents shine on the pitch.
The competition was also attended by personalities such as Benjamin Houri, Global Technical Director of the PSG Academy, and Nenê, a true Paris Saint-Germain legend. The PSG Academy Brazil technical staff closely monitored the players in order to select the players who will join the 2025 teams. The results were announced at the closing ceremony, held at the Espaço Di Trento, in a celebratory atmosphere.
