Kieffer Moore is the subject of interest from Wrexham and FLW has looked at two other players who could leave Sheffield United.

Sheffield United are in the midst of a busy summer transfer window, with the Blades still perhaps reeling from their defeat to Sunderland in the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium at the end of last season.

Chris Wilder has already departed Bramall Lane this summer, being replaced in the dugout by former Reading and Hull City boss Ruben Selles, with the expectation that they once again launch a promotion challenge in the second-tier.

The issue will have to be that there are still a lot of things up in the air in South Yorkshire, and the squad could look very different to what it does now by the end of the market.

Vinicius Souza has already departed for Wolfsburg, alongside the end of many loan deals such as Rob Holding and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, whilst Kieffer Moore is now being linked with a move to Championship newcomers Wrexham.

The Wales international striker may not be the last to depart the club this summer and Football League World has looked at a couple of other players who could well follow him out the door in the next month or so.

2 Gustavo Hamer

It is perhaps a bit of a surprise that Gustavo Hamer is still a Sheffield United player, and if his performance in a recent pre-season friendly against Burton Albion is anything to go by, then he doesn’t currently seem at the races right now.

Hamer joined United, who had just been promoted to the top-flight, in the summer of 2023 from Coventry City, after he was instrumental in leading the Sky Blues to the play-off final in the Championship.

The Brazilian-born former Netherlands youth international has been excellent for Sheffield United in the couple of seasons he has spent at Bramall Lane, and he was named EFL Championship Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign.

The sale of Vini Souza may lessen the pressure on United to sell this summer, having missed out on the riches of the Premier League, but it will surely still be a major shock to see him at the club by the close of the window.

He has been linked with Everton among many others this summer, and if United want to strengthen their squad, he would appear to be perhaps the most saleable asset that they have.

Another of the most saleable assets, and another absolute key man for United, would be Bosnia-Herzegovina international centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic.

The 26-year-old Malmo-born defender moved to the club from Malmö, his hometown, in the summer of 2022, and he has gone on to make well over 100 appearances as a rock at the back for United.

Perhaps one of the absolute very best defenders in the Championship, it would again be a player that supporters and Selles would not want to see depart.

However, his quality is such that he will surely, once again, be the subject of interest from a level above, and Premier League clubs like Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked in the past.

Staying in the Championship with Premier League-level players is not necessarily sustainable and, like Hamer, it could well be that if a good offer comes in for Ahmedhodzic, then he too will be sold given his soon-to-be expiring contract.
