Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Mickael Biron is closing in on a move to Germany. The RWDM forward is set to sign a two-year contract with Bundesliga 2 side 1. FC Nürnberg as part of a deal that will bring the Belgian side around €800k. The Martinique striker has spent the past three seasons in Belgium with RWDM, having joined the side from Oostende via Nancy.
While Biron had been an Oostende players since 2021, multi-club ownership meant he spent his time with Nancy before RWDM brought him to Brussels in 2022. During his first season he fired the side to promotion with an impressive 16 goals in 29 games in the second tier. Injuries hampered his impact in the top flight the following season, but he was still good for seven goals in 24 games. OH Leuven brought Biron in on loan for the 2024/2025 season, with RWDM having been relegated. However, the striker was not given much of a chance at the club and after just 12 goalless appearances he returned to RWDM. This proved a boost for the Brussels side as the striker scored six goals in 13 games, but RWDM were unable to win promotion.
Earlier this summer, RWDM appeared to have undergone a rebrand with a name change to Daring Brussels, however fan power prevailed and the club have since returned to being RWDM.
1. FC Nürnberg finished 10th in the second tier of German football last season. Despite being a historic side in German football, they have not been in the Bundesliga since 2018/2019. 1.
