Britain’s Daily Express lists Werder Bremen as one of the parties interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sasa Kalajdzic. The towering two-meter-tall Austrian again seeks to rebuild his career after a set of major ACL tears kept him out of action for 14 months. Bremen would serve as the 27-year-old’s third Bundesliga club.

Once seemingly destined for greatness after a strong start to his career in Stuttgart, Kalajdzic suffered his first major ACL tear in his very first match for his Premier League side in August 2022. That injury would keep him sidelined for nearly a full calendar year. At the time of the first injury, Kalajdzic was a €25m-valued striker who had just completed an €18m transfer to Wolves.

More horrific injury luck saw Kalajdzic placed out of action just five matches into his loan stint at Eintracht Frankfurt. This time multiple tears were reported Having also incurred an ACL tear whilst at Stuttgart in 2019, the “Austrian Peter Crouch” has now suffered three major ACL injuries in the space of five years.

Kalajdzic remains under contract with Wolves through 2027 and currently maintains an estimated €4m market worth. Bremen themselves desperately require help at the striker position following the departures of Oliver Burke and Marvin Ducksch. A loan could prove amenable to the EPL side

After proving a total flop during the second half of the campaign, RB Leipzig loanee Andre Silva has no future with the Hanseaten. At present newly appointed Bremen head coach Horst Steffen only has youngsters Keke Topp and Justin Njinmah to draw upon.
