Bayern Munich’s attempt to land Malick Fofana's collapsed after Lyon stood firm on their 40 million euro valuation.

Reports from L’Equipe reveal that Arsenal were keen on the 20 year old winger while Everton submitted €35m bid that Lyon quickly rejected. Fofana himself also dismissed the offer insisting he would only move to club competing in the Champions league.

Lyon’s financial pressure

Lyon face the need to raise around 40m euro through sales to meet French financial authority requirements. Despite this, the club refused to lower their price for Fofana .. a figure Bayern Munich were unwilling to match.

Fofana's tied to Lyon until 2028 and remains crucial asset. Last season, he registered 11 goal & 6 assist in 41 appearances across competitions bringing his total tally with Lyon to 15 goal in 63 game.
