All the talk at the moment is about Bayern Munich’s interest in Christopher Nkunku. The attacker looks closer than ever to a switch to Bavaria after talks intensified over the weekend.
But what of their existing desire to sign two other Blues? We’ve not heard much about that in the last month.

Back in July, the very well connected Christian Falk reported that two defenders were on Bayern’s radar:
“They like Malo Gusto… and have an eye on Renato Veiga. However in both cases, they have to sell players first.”
Bayern have since sold players – perhaps not enough to make a serious move, but they’ve freed up some budget. It appears that moving on Kim-min Jae is what will really unlock things. So far, despite whispers of interest from Saudi Arabia, it seems the South Korean star is more likely to stay at the Allianz than go.
That’s bad news for Chelsea, who certainly in Veiga and Nkunku have a pair of players they’d love to move on for a good price.
Gusto is a different case – selling him would mean having to scramble for a replacement late in the window, something the Blues don’t really want to do. Everyone is for sale at the right price – but we can’t see Bayern’s offer matching what it would take to make us sell our second choice right back after the season has already started.
Veiga, having had so much interest reported, is proving harder to shift than most people expected. Top teams wanted him – but clearly Chelsea are asking a high price which the suitors aren’t willing to match.
