Tobias Lauritsen joins: How Blackburn Rovers' dream end to the transfer window looks

Blackburn could have a busy few days at the end of the window ahead of them.

The full focus of Blackburn Rovers up until 7pm on September 1st should be on bringing in new players.

No team in the Championship has had their spine ripped away from them in this window in quite the way that it has happened to Valerien Ismael's side, apart from Sheffield Wednesday, but that is for totally different reasons.

In the space of just a few months, Danny Batth, Andi Weimann, Tyrhys Dolan, Callum Brittain, John Buckley and Lewis Travis have all left the club. Last season, that group of players racked up around 200 Championship appearances for Blackburn. Replacing that is going to be tough for any team to do.

A number of players have come the other way to help bolster the French manager's options, but there is still plenty of work to do in that regard.

If Blackburn can get three signings, like the proposed ones coming up, done before the window shuts on Monday, the feelings around the club's summer activity should improve.

Rovers are clearly on the hunt for a new number nine. They had a bid for Lorient centre-forward Sambou Soumano rejected on Thursday, but they could look elsewhere in the striker market to secure their ideal option up top.

Tobias Lauritsen, the Norwegian line-leader for Sparta Rotterdam, has been vaguely linked with moves to other EFL clubs this summer, including Hull City and Millwall.

The 27-year-old has hit double figures for goals in each of his three full seasons with the Dutch club, and is on track to do so once again in his fourth term with them after scoring twice in his first three games of the new campaign.

At six-foot-four, the Scandanavian would be a physical force for Championship defenders to content with. That type of striker is one that Ismael has got the best out of before with the likes of Daryl Dike at Barnsley.

Lauritsen's contract is up at the end of the season too, so he could be available for a cheaper price; that's something that would surely appeal to the cash-strapped Rovers.

2 Ian Poveda

Ian Poveda is likely to leave Sunderland this summer following their promotion to the Premier League.

His game time was limited anyway under Regis Le Bris when they were in the same division as Blackburn, so his opportunities are only going to become less regular now that they are in the top flight.

Le Bris could do his compatriot - Ismael - a favour by lending the right-winger to the Ewood Park residents for the season.

He'd fill a gap in the squad that still lurks. Injuries may be a bit of a concern with him, but he has been beloved by supporters in his previous temporary spells with other EFL clubs.

3 Jakob Breum

This move would be the least likely of the three given the teams that Blackburn would have to battle to sign the player. Celtic, although they will not be in the Champions League this season, are interested in Go Ahead Eagles creative midfielder Jakob Breum, and so should Rovers.

Another Scandinavian who has thrived in the Netherlands, the 21-year-old can play a number of positions across the attacking midfield line. He had a breakout season last time out when he netted 10 goals and registered five assists in only 26 appearances, which is why Go Ahead have put a reported £6 million price tag on his head, as per the Scottish Herald.

It'd be a hard deal to do, but it'd be a fantastic coup if Blackburn were able to add this creative demon to their squad before the deadline.
