The upcoming Barcelona preseason tour is an important one for the club due to several reasons. From the financial perspective to the sporting one, there are many benefits for the club to embark on the journey to Asia. However, not every Barcelona player will get to experience it.

After all, there is a limit on the number of players that Hansi Flick will take with him to Asia. Currently, it is expected that 26 players will travel as the Barcelona squad to take part in the arranged friendlies across both Japan and South Korea.

For that reason, Hansi Flick will have to assess which players to take with the squad and which players to leave behind. Interestingly, it seems that three players currently dealing with potential transfer exits are all considered to be doubtful to make the trip.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, three players in particular are doubts for the preseason tour. Oriol Romeu, Pau Victor, and Andreas Christensen are all linked with exits this summer and might not be included in the Barcelona squad that travels to Asia.

In the case of Romeu, the player is reportedly looking for a new club actively and could decide to stay back in Spain in order to avoid future complications. If an offer does arrive, it would make far more sense for him to stay back rather than have to travel back again from Asia.

Christensen, on the other hand, is the defender that Barcelona are reportedly willing to let go of this summer. With the likes of Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez, Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, and Eric Garcia all being able to play as centre-backs, the Danish defender might not have a locked in place next season. Thus, his inclusion in the Asia tour is also uncertain.

Lastly, the case of Pau Victor is a bit dissimilar to those of the other two. There is still a strong possibility that he could end up staying with the squad, but it has been reported recently that a certain La Liga club would be interested in a loan deal for him.

A possible debut for Marcus Rashford in Japan

While the situation of these three players is yet to be sorted, another player now looks likely to travel with the team to Asia. New Barcelona signing Marcus Rashford, who is still yet to be officially announced, has reportedly already received the green light to take part in Barça’s first preseason game against Vissel Kobe in Japan.
